Adding Radars
- Click Radars in the toolbar to open the Radar panel.
- Enter a unique Radar ID (e.g.,
RADAR-1).
- Choose a Type from the dropdown to load realistic defaults, or keep Generic and set parameters manually.
- Set the Lat / Lon / Alt position, or click Pick to click a point on the map.
- Expand Advanced Parameters to fine-tune range, scan rate, azimuth sector, elevation, transmit power, and more.
- Click Add Radar. The radar appears on the map with its coverage area (FOV).
Drag a radar marker on the map to reposition it. Right-click a radar marker to edit or delete it.
Adding Targets
- Click Targets in the toolbar to open the Target panel.
- Enter a Target ID and choose a Type (aircraft, drone, vehicle, etc.) which sets the radar cross-section (RCS).
- Set the Start Position (Lat / Lon / Alt) and Velocity (heading, speed, climb rate), or use Pick for map placement.
- Expand Advanced to override the RCS manually.
- Click Add Target. Targets are shown as colored icons on the map.
Drag a target marker to change its start position. Use the map legend to toggle target visibility.
Running a Simulation
- Click Simulation in the toolbar.
- Set the Duration (seconds) and Step (ms) for time resolution.
- Choose a Mode:
- Real-Time — plays at wall-clock speed with live map updates.
- Batch — runs as fast as possible (no live visualization).
- Optionally enable the Emitter Output section to stream detections over the network (UDP, TCP, or Multicast) in ASTERIX 34/48, ASTERIX 62, CoT, or JSON format.
- Click Start. Use Pause / Stop to control the simulation.
During a real-time simulation, targets move on the map, detection events flash at radar positions, and trailing lines trace each target's path.
Saving & Loading Scenarios
- In the Simulation panel, scroll to Saved Configs.
- Type a name and click Save to store the current radars, targets, and simulation settings to your browser's local storage.
- Select a saved config from the dropdown, then click the load button to restore it.
- Click the button to delete a saved config.
Configs are stored in your browser. The last loaded config is automatically restored when you reopen the page.
Map Controls
- Brightness slider (bottom-left) — adjusts the map tile brightness. Trail line colors auto-adjust for contrast.
- Legend (bottom-right) — shows radar colors and toggles for target / Pd label visibility.
- WebSocket indicator (top-right dot) — green = connected, orange = connecting, red = disconnected. Reconnection is automatic.
